About

Keeping a personal homepage has been a tradition since my very first page on the server of the Maurice E. Müller Institute for Biomechanics during my doctoral thesis. It has served various purposes, like keeping my web link list available across multiple devices or providing a test bed for exploring new technologies of the WWW. Indeed, some changes have come full circle now. From statically generated HTML by an Excel worksheet with VBA, to Perl, PHP, MySQL and Javascript with a self-written template system, full-text indexed database for links and documents, now back to statically generated HTML pages with Hugo. Currently used languages for this site: Markdown, HTML, CSS, Go, Javascript.

Template and fonts

My own Hugo template is based on Minimal Academic in 2018 by Joshua Hu (MIT license). Currently used fonts: Open Sans designed by Steve Matteson (Google Corporation, Apache license 2.0) and a free version of Font Awesome (icons: CC BY 4.0 license, fonts: SIL OFL 1.1 license, code: MIT license).

Privacy

This private web page is used to show some of my work. Users cannot store data; thus, no personal data of users are stored. However, as it is common for web servers, technical data provided by web browsers are temporarily stored in log files. These data are kept confidential and only analyzed by myself in an anonymized fashion for statistical purpose and to resolve technical problems if needed.

All external 3rd party analysis software and discussion callbacks have been removed from the original Hugo template to avoid potential tracking of users. No cookies are used. Please contact me by eMail in case of questions.
